Pair of Louis XV-Style Marquetry Tables with Ormolu Mounts
Dimensions
19″ wide X 11″ deep X 29″ tall
Origins
France, circa mid-20th century, in the Nouveau Louis XV style
Materials
Marquetry and satinwood veneer with floral inlay, gilt-bronze ormolu mounts, brass gallery, and bronze drawer pulls
A charming pair of Louis XV style marquetry tables in graceful haricot form. Their floral inlay and parquetry tops shimmer beneath a warm satinwood finish, framed by delicate brass galleries and gilded ormolu mounts.
Each table features three drawers with ornate pulls — perfect beside a bed or settee. Elegant, feminine, and unmistakably French, these pieces capture the romance of 18th-century Parisian design.
Condition
Both tables are in lovely vintage condition with gentle wear consistent with age and use. One table shows a small area of veneer lift to the back panel (as shown), which does not detract from the pair’s beauty or structural integrity.
